Harbour Portal Crane introduction:

Portal cranes refer to the cranes traditionally used at the front of port terminals. On the portal base running on the ground track, a rotatable jib is set up, with 4 cooperating mechanisms for lifting, turning, luffing and running. Railway trains or other vehicles can pass under the portal seat. Carry out loading and unloading of vehicles and ships and direct fetching operations.

Portal cranes (gantry cranes) have large spans and are used for quayside cranes for marshalling and stacking containers. The crane operates across groups of containers, lifting and lowering them as needed. The crane is either rail type or rubber tire type.
