The appearance is still the same, but this dredger has two pumps, one main pump in the reamer and another sub-pump in the cabin. This design maximizes suction and allows for deeper digging where the mud is transported further. The biggest drawback is that the cost is higher than the submersible dredger.
The cutter suction dredger is a fixed type of dredigng equipment. After fixing the position by the positioning pile, and then pulling the left and right sides alternately by the winch, the reamer can perform the fan-shaped movement, and the rotating reamer penetrates the water and swings in the soil. At the same time, the sediment in the soil is sucked into the pump through the suction pipe, and then the sediment is directly sent to the mud treatment area through the pipeline.
The cutter suction dredger loosens the soil at the bottom of the river or the seabed using a rotating reamer, sucks it into the pump through a straw, and then sends it to the mud treatment zone through the mud pipe.
And the modern precision instruments can accurately indicate the dredging profile and the side-breaking slope. When the size of the cutter suction dredger is very large, it is usually equipped with self-propelled equipment, so that easy on-site movement can be achieved.
Conventional cutter suction dredgers are more suitable for use in construction environments where the soil is only soil and small stones. However, it is now possible to adapt to more construction environments by replacing the reamer. For example, broken stones are not very hard stones or water plants that cut off the bottom of the water.
Although small cutter suction dredgers are not equipped with self-propelled equipment, they are the least expensive and economical to dredge compared to other types of dredger dredgers.
