What is the difference between DTG and sublimation?
The inks used in the DTG process paint the surface of the substrate, while the sublimation dye penetrates the surface to recolor from the inside out. Therefore, the chemistry of the two processes is completely different, with sublimation relying on molecular bonding, while DTG relies on surface adhesion.
DTF prints have higher detail than DTG prints. Since the image is printed on film rather than fabric, there is less dot gain, which results in a DTF print with sharper details than a DTG print.
In most cases, DTF prints handle stretch better than DTG and screen prints without cracking or separating.
Compared to DTG printing, DTF printing is suitable for a wider range of fabrics - performance wear, polyester, tri-blends, etc. are no longer as worrying as DTG.
