About KC mark

The electrical appliances safety certification system is in force based on "Electrical Appliances Safety Control law" and electrical products can be manufactured and placed on market acquisition of safety certification. (electrical appliances technical standard: apply "K standards" complying with international standard)

Electrical appliances safety certification is required by manufacturing place as well as model, thus, there should be no same product model name in one manufacturing factory. In case of producing same products in different factories, each factory requires to obtain the certification respectively.

1. Documents required for new application
a) Electrical appliances safety certification application form
b) Product descriptions (including user's manual in Korea)
c) List of parts influencing directly to electrical safety
: part name, manufacturer, model name (type), ratings, electrical characteristic, approval mark
(certification number).
d) Specification of insulation materials (temperature, withstand voltage characteristic, flammability grade).
e) circuit schematic diagram, Transformer specification
f) Marking plate : refer to regulation of electrical appliance related marking
g) Pre-license factory inspection report (limited to initial factory audit)
: accurate factory name and address, map attached
- Domestic: Pre-license factory inspection report
- Overseas: Manufacturing Factory Information Form in English (questionnaire) is required for overseas
manufacturing factories In overseas. For factories in China, name/address/ contact person should be
clearly stated in both English and Chinese.
※ Issuance of sample certificate for custom clearance and preliminary reception
2. Sample preparations
Number of samples can be changed for samples testing.
Normally 1ea for safety test, 1ea for EMC test are necessary.
3. Certification Service fees
a) Certificate issuance fee (for a new application) : 50,000won per application
b) Safety test fee
c) EMC test fee
d) Initial factory inspection fee
- Domestic : 200,000 won + business trip fees
- Overseas : USA, Mexico, Canada, Taiwan, Philippine (USD1,500),
- China and other areas are deferred payment (MOU).
