What is the difference between 304 and 316 ?

Different composition:
304 stainless steel plate contains about 18% - 20% chromium and about 8% - 10.5% nickel.
316 stainless steel plate adds about 2% - 3% molybdenum (Mo) element on the basis of 304, and the nickel content is about 10% - 14%.
Different corrosion resistance:
304 stainless steel plate has good corrosion resistance and can resist corrosion in most environments.
316 stainless steel plate has stronger corrosion resistance due to the molybdenum element, especially in the face of chloride environment (such as seawater, salt spray, etc.). For example, in marine engineering and shipbuilding, 316 stainless steel plate is more suitable.
