What is biodiesel?

Biodiesel is a natural renewable, and alternative fuel for any diesel engine. it is a liquid fuel made from oil seeds crops such as soybean and rapeseed, oil seeds such as oil palm and yellow lily, oilseed aquatic plants such as engineered microalgae and animal fats and waste catering oil, which is a high quality substitute for petroleum diesel.

Biodiesel is a kind of alternative fuel produced by using renewable resources, with outstanding environmental protection and renewability. With the increasing depletion of fossil fuels and the emergence of global warming, biodiesel has a broad prospect as a substitute for petroleum and other fossil fuels.

The CO2 emitted during the combustion of biodiesel is much lower than the CO2 absorbed by plants during their growth, thus ameliorating the major environmental problem of global warming, which is harmful to mankind, caused by CO2 emissions. Biodiesel is therefore a truly green diesel. The development of biodiesel is of strategic importance to the sustainable development of the economy, the promotion of energy substitution, the reduction of environmental pressure and the control of urban air pollution.

Biodiesel contains no petroleum, is non-hazardous, non-flammable, non-toxic and is biodegradable.

The EPA has recognized biodiesel's environmental benefits by classifying it as an Advanced Biofuel, making biodiesel the only commercial-scale fuel produced nationwide to meet the agency's advanced criteria.

Therefore, biodiesel is a new type of fuel made from renewable vegetable oils such as rapeseed. According to the chemical composition analysis, biodiesel fuel is a high fatty acid methane, which is obtained by the decomposition of glycerolipids with unsaturated oleic acid carbon 18 as the main component.
