WHAT IS EEG?


An electroencephalogram (EEG) allows us to measure the electrical activity of the brain. During an EEG, we place small electrodes on the scalp. These electrodes allow us to monitor and record brainwaves.

Application:

EEG has proven to be highly effective in studying clinical conditions such as epilepsy, cerebral stroke, traumatic brain injury as well as monitoring brain functions in neonatal, paediatric and adult population with installations in intensive care units, emergency rooms, sleep and other research laboratories.

Why does this training procedure work?

The brain is amazingly adaptable, and capable of learning. It can also learn to improve its own performance, if only it is given cues about what to change. By making information available to the brain about how it is functioning, and asking it to make adjustments, it can do so. We challenge the person to maintain this “high-performance”, alert and attentive state. Gradually, the brain learns, just like it learns anything else.
