Style 1523 Plain Weave Lightweight Thin Fiberglass Cloth Roll with 392gsm
1. Description
Among reinforcements, fiberglass fabrics are still the most commonly used reinforcements in the composites industry today. In general, they are the cheapest reinforcement material and easy to handle. When combined with resin, it provides excellent strength, weight and aesthetics to composite parts.
All fiberglass fabrics are woven for fiber orientation, and each fiberglass fabric has unique weight, strength, and fabric properties that should be considered before beginning any project.
This plain weave fiberglass is particularly light and thin, making it ideal as a surface layer for aerospace and marine applications. Use it to minimize print-through on heavier fabrics in lamination, or as a sanding veil on other fabrics - it will cure into a clear protective barrier.
Like other plain weaves, it has uniform strength both horizontally and vertically, with 0 and 90 degrees of warp and weft, respectively. Orient this fabric so that the yarn is parallel to the intended load.
