IEC60335-2-64 Splash Apparatus with Diameter 2mm Nozzles for Testing Electric Kitchen Machines
1. Application
The splash test is to simulate the posture of water splashing from the ground to the base of electrical products when raindrops fall on the ground. It is applied to test the water resistance performance of the bottom of household electrical appliances like electric food processing machinery, electric stoves, washing machines and others which have the IPX1, IPX2, IPX3, IPX4 protection grade.
2. Standards conform to
IEC60335-2-75 clause 15.1.1 and figure 101, IEC60335-2-64 clause 15.1.1 and 15.1.2, GB4706.38 and GB4706.52.
3. Introduction
The splash apparatus is mainly consisted by nozzle, bowl, hose and pressure gauge. The nozzle, bowl and hose are made of stainless steel, and the pressure gauge is to real time to display the water pressure.
The water pressure is so regulated that water splashed up 150mm above the bottom of the bowl. The bowl is placed on the floor for appliances normally used on the floor. For all other appliances, on a horizontal support 50mm below the lowest edge of the appliance, the bowl is so moved around as to splash the appliance from all directions. Care is taken that the appliance is not hit by the direct jet. The splash test lasts for 5min.
