IEC 62916 Electric Vehicle Socket-Outlets Gauge A with 20N and B with 1N for Checking Shutters Test Probes
1. Introduction of Gauge A and B test probes:
The gauge A and B test probes are strictly designed according to IEC62196-1-2022 clause 10.2 figure 9 and figure 10. It's used to test the EV socket-outlet. And it's consisted of test wire, insulated handle and thruster.
Testing method:
- The Gauge A according to figure 9 is applied to the entry holes corresponding to the live contacts and to any other opening of the engagement surface with a force of 20N. The gauge is applied to the shutters in the most unfavourable position, successively in three directions, to the same place for approximately 5s in each of the three direction. During each application the gauge shall not be rotated, and it shall be applied in such a way that the 20N force is maintained. When moving the gauge from one direction to the next, no force is applied but the gauge shall not be withdrawn.
- Gauge B according to figure 10, it then applied with a force of 1N and in three directions, for approximately 5s in each direction, with independent movements, withdrawing the gauge after each movement.
2. Parameter of Gauge A and B test probes:
20N Push force | Rigid steel wire | Diameter: 3+0.03mm, length: 80±0.5mm |
Tip of rigid steel wire | R0.2+0.05 | |
1N Push Force | Rigid steel wire | Diameter: 1+0.015mm, length: 80±0.5mm |
Tip of rigid steel wire | R0.05 |
