IEC60529 Spray Nozzle Testing Equipment for IPX3 and IPX4 Testing
1. Introduction
IPX3/4 spray nozzle test equipment can meet the requirement of IEC60529 clauses 14.2.3 and 14.2.4 and figure 5, it is it is apply to verify the protection against spraying water (IPX3) and splashing water (IPX4) for large size sample. The equipment is consisted by spray nozzle, water tank and control box. This equipment is to simulate the raining conditions to check the physical performance of outdoor luminaires, household appliance, auto parts and etc..
The spray nozzle hand-held device is designed according to IEC60529 figure 5, it is it is apply to verify the protection against spraying water (IPX3) and splashing water (IPX4) for large size sample. The hand-held device is consisted by spray nozzle, moving shield, counterweight, hose and pressure gauge. The spray nozzle is made of brass and has 121 holes with diameter 0.5mm (1 hole at center, 2 inner circles of 12 holes at 300 pitch, 4 outer circles of 24 holes at 150pitch). The moving shield is made of aluminum, the counterbalanced shield is in place for IPX3 test, the water pressure is adjusted to give the specified delivery rate, the pressure to achieve this delivery rate will be in the range of 50kPa to 150kPa, and it should be kept constant during the test, the test duration is 1min/m2 of the calculated surface of the enclosure and with a minimum duration of 5 min. For IPX4 test, the counterbalanced shield is removed from the spray nozzle and the enclosure is sprayed from all practicable directions, the rate of water flow and the spraying time per unit area are same as IPX3 test.

● The spray nozzle is processed by CNC technology, the head is made of pure brass, and the surface is mirror-polished. The moving shield is made of aluminum, and the other parts are made of SUS304 stainless steel.
● The surface of the nozzle head is sprayed with an anti-rust coating, which can effectively prevent the watermark on the surface of the nozzle from producing patina and affecting the appearance.
● The spray nozzle has 121 holes with diameter 0.5mm (1 hole at center, 2 inner circles of 12 holes at 300 pitch, 4 outer circles of 24 holes at 150pitch), completely meet the requirement of IEC60529.
● The control box includes timer, power switch button, emergency stop button, start button and flowmeter.

1). What kind of water can be used?
Pego: The purity water is recommended on prior, tap water, fresh water or other water can be used as per different standard requirements.
2). Can the water recycled?
Pego: No, this is an open type equipment, the water cannot be recyled. But we have the chamber type equipment for option.
3). Will you provide the on-site installation service?
Pego: Actually, the equipment will no need on-site installation service. The equipment will be shipped almost as a whole, user just need to make simple wiring connection when receive the goods.
4). What is the warranty period? and how can we get the after-sales service?
Pego: The warranty period is 12 months upon user receive the goods. 95% of after-sales problems can be solved by our engineer team through remote service. Customers will get a response within 24 hours in business day after reporting the problem. In our experience, most of the troublesome can be removed with the guidance of our engineer, only a small part of the troublesome are caused by parts failure, that is because we use the branded components, which have better performance and good reliability. If the parts damaged, we will a send a new for replace, the new parts will be charged for free within the warranty period. And also our eigneer team will teach how to replace the damaged parts.
