The tracking index test apparatus is designed according to the standards IEC 60112, GB/T 4207, IEC62368-1 clause 5.4.3.3, IEC60598-1 clause 13.4, IEC60601-1 clause 8.9.1.7, IEC60335-1 clause 29, IEC61010-1 clause 6.7.1.3, IEC60884-1 clause 28.2, and BS1363-1 clause 8.2 Appendix C. It is widely used in material testing on lamps, household appliances, IT/AV appliances, and electrical accessories. The tracking resistance index measured by the tracking index tester can identify the level of tracking resistance of raw materials used in electrical equipment working in a humid environment. The tracking index test device is equipped with a 7-inch color touch screen, PLC, imported medical grade titration pump, high-power voltage regulator, and pure platinum electrodes.

The PTI names Proof Tracking Index, it’s the voltage value of the material subjected to 50 drops of electrolyte without electrical tracking, the unit is volt.
The CTI names comparative tracking index. The highest voltage value at which the surface of the material can withstand 50 drops of electrolyte without forming electrical tracking, the unit is volt.
Solution A is normally used. Dissolve approximately 0.1T by mass of analytical reagent grade anhydrous ammonium chloride (NH4Cl), of a purity of not less than 99.8% of not less than 99.8%, in de-ionized water to give a resistivity of (3.95±0.05) Ωm at (23±1)℃.
