63A 125A 200ACHAdeMO Connector EV Charging Cable For Japanese Standard DC Fast EV Charging Station
CHAdeMO signifies both the name of the DC charging technology designed for electric vehicles and that of the
organization tasked to develop it the technology.
The CHAdeMO (CHArge de MOve) EV charging connector, developed by the CHAdeMO Association, is a fast-
charging standard interface for electric vehicles.
It is primarily used by Japanese automakers, including Nissan, Mitsubishi, KIA, and French companies Peugeot
and Citröen. The connector was introduced in 2010 by a consortium of companies, including Nissan, Mitsubishi, and TEPCO.
CHAdeMO is the first DC fast charging standard created in Japan. It uses a special large round connector that
provides DC power up to 62.5kW, enabling very fast charging. CHAdeMO is popular in Asia and also found at
many DC fast charging locations in Europe and North America. It is supported by a number of EV brands like
Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda. A key advantage of CHAdeMO is its speed, allowing an 80% charge in 30-40 minutes.
Drawbacks include larger connector size, no integrated communication protocol and more limited deployment
than newer standards. CHAdeMO charging stations require special DC chargers compatible with the protocol.
