ETP Tinplate / Coil DR8 DR9 Tin Plated Steel Sheet for Food Usage with Inside Coating
ETP tinplate sheet/coil is an electroplated tinned thin steel sheet. DR8 and DR9 indicate its tempering degree. It belongs to secondary cold-rolled tinplate and has the characteristics of high strength and thin thickness. The following is an introduction to tin-plated steel sheet (inner coating) for food:
Basic structure:
From the inside to the outside, it is usually composed of a steel base layer, a tin-iron alloy layer, a tin layer, an oxide film, an oil film and an inner coating. The steel base layer provides basic strength; the tin-iron alloy layer can enhance corrosion resistance; the tin layer is a key protective barrier that blocks foreign substances from contacting the steel base layer, and has stable chemical properties; the oxide film has anti-rust and anti-discoloration properties; the oil film can increase corrosion resistance and act as a lubricant during processing; the inner coating separates food from tinplate to reduce reactions.
Performance characteristics
- Good corrosion resistance: The tin-plated layer itself has an electrochemical protective effect. In the food canning environment, tin dissolves preferentially as an anode to protect the iron matrix. The inner coating further isolates corrosive substances such as acids and salts in food from contacting tinplate, preventing the can body from being corroded and extending the shelf life of food.
- Excellent processing performance: DR8 and DR9 tempered tinplate has high strength and is thinner after secondary cold rolling. It can meet various complex canning process requirements, such as stamping, stretching, curling, etc. The cans made are regular in shape and reliable in quality.
- Hygiene and safety: The inner coating of tinplate for food meets the relevant hygiene standards, is non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless, and will not release harmful substances into food, ensuring the safety and hygiene of food. At the same time, the tinplate itself has good hygienic properties and can effectively prevent metal ions from migrating into food.
- Good printing adaptability: The inner coating provides a good surface for printing, which is conducive to the adhesion of ink, and can obtain exquisite printing effects, with clear patterns, bright colors, strong adhesion, and not easy to fade and fall off, which helps to improve the beauty and attractiveness of food packaging and promote product sales.
Applications of Tinplate and TFS
ETP is primarily used for packaging foodstuffs and beverages, but it is also used in containers for oils, grease, paints, polishes, chemicals and many other products. Aerosol containers and caps and closures are also made from ETP. |
TFS are most frequently used for can tops, screw and lug caps, snap and press-on closures and shallow-drawn food cans. |
Miscellaneous Electrodes, Cable tape, Magnetic screen covers, etc. Automotive oil filters, Automotive air filters, Gaskets, etc. Gas meter internal components, Heat exchangers, cookware, shelving, etc. |
