Quick Details:
Polyaspartic, a hybrid akin to polyurethane, originated in the 1990s initially for bridge steel coatings due to its corrosion-resistant properties. This epoxy alternative, often termed an aliphatic polyurea sealer, blends ester with other components. Manufacturers can adjust ester proportions, tailoring polyaspartic for diverse traits, like rapid drying and minimal emissions post-application, enhancing its versatility compared to conventional epoxy.
Typically boasting a clear, lustrous finish, polyaspartic mimics the appearance of a sleek, wet concrete floor. For added flair, colors can be incorporated into the mixture to achieve a more vibrant aesthetic. Many opt to sprinkle decorative chips onto the surface while the coating is still wet, introducing both color variations and a non-slip texture.
Features:
1. Fast cure times with excellent adhesion
2. Low Odor, No VOC
3. Superior chemical resistance
4. Superior abrasion resistance
5. Nonyellowing and good gloss retention
6. Easy to mix 1:1 ratio by volume
Advantages:
The cross linking of the Polyaspartic series film in the cure makes it exceptionally tough and durable, making it four times more abrasion resistant than normal epoxy. The chemistry is based upon polyaspartic and much attention has been given to the application and installation attributes in its formulation. As a result, the Polyaspartic clear topcoat is extremely user friendly without having sacrificed the performance of the finished floor coating product. The applications for this product are almost limitless. Polyaspartic is suited for use on high-end residential flooring applications, retail floor settings with high traffic, or food service floor areas where stain resistance and cleanability are paramount.
