Self Locking Counter Nut Din 7967 Lock Nut M12 Palnut Pal Nut
Description
Pal nuts are made to DIN 7967 and most commonly referred to as a Counter Nut, stamped sheet metal Check-Nuts or self locking Counter Nuts.
These locknuts are made from a spring-like steel which allows them to distort under load pressure, before returning to their original shape in the threaded area.
They are very lightweight and host a low profile and the ability to be tightened with an internal wrench or fingers. This provides a vibration resistant locking action whilst remaining usable in small and tricky areas suffering from space restrictions.
Pal Nuts or Counter Nuts are manufactured as standard in Steel Galvanised, Steel Zinc, Self Colour and A2 or A4 Stainless Steel, with other materials also available.
Sizes range from M4 to M80 as standard, with specials available to order.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
Tight nuts is a single buckle elastic locking nut that is often used as a secondary nut in a double nut locking structure. Due to its weight being only 30% of that of ordinary nuts, it is suitable for applications in the aerospace field and related occasions. M5mm fastening nut is one of the parts produced by our factory, mainly used in the unlocking joint device of a certain type of component. It is generally matched with concave bolts and hexagonal nuts. The separation surface used to connect brackets, flat tube components, and docking trusses.
Self-Locking Counter Nut DIN 7967 / Steel
Tightens against a primary nut to secure it firmly into place. Compressing the counter nut against the primary nut causes the internal teeth / barbs of the counter nut to pinch the threads of the bolt, locking both the counter nut and the primary nut into place. Once in place, the primary nut cannot be accidentally unscrewed.
Advantages
Lighter than standard jam nuts, distorts under load and return (spring) to original shape in threaded area, reusable. This nut should be assembled by hand against the primary nut and then be tightened 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn with a wrench.
Zinc Plated and Yellow Zinc Plated finishes provide corrosion resistance without sacrificing strength.
Also known as Pal Nut, secondary nut, check nut
