Details:
For testing the mechanical strength of regenerable plugs and automotive connectors fitted with flexible cables.
The sample is held so that the cable is level and then allowed to fall on the concrete floor. This was done 8 times; the cable was rotated 45° each time it was fixed.
Renewable plugs and vehicle connectors are fitted with a small portion (about 200mm) of the lightest type of flex cable with the minimum cross-sectional area recommended by the manufacturer.
After testing, the samples shall show no damage as specified in IEC 62196-1Ed. 4 cdv 2020; In particular, no parts should come off or come loose. The sample should not expose parts that may be charged. Samples should maintain their IP rating.
Accessories with a degree of protection IP44 or higher should be subjected to the relevant tests specified in IEC 62196 - 1ed. 4CDV 2020 Clause 20.
Accessories with thermoplastic housings shall be tested to IEC62196-1ed. 4CDV 2020 Clause 21.4.
