The working principle of Carter 320 joystick foot valve is based on mechanical transmission and hydraulic control. Take the walking foot valve as an example. Move the control lever backward, and the movement of the control lever is converted into the downward movement of the right push rod through the rocker arm and other components. The displacement of the push rod is transmitted to the valve core through the spring seat, the retaining spring and the balance spring. Under the joint action of the balance spring and the secondary pressure of the outlet, the valve core maintains balance with the force on the push rod and maintains a constant position to stabilize the outlet pressure. When the push rod reaches the maximum position, the decompression effect of the valve core disappears, and the outlet pressure is equivalent to the inlet. Release the control lever, and the right push rod has a tendency to reset under the action of the reset spring and the thrust difference between the upper and lower damping chambers, but due to the damping effect of the throttle hole of the left push rod, it can be reset smoothly, reducing the impact of high-pressure oil on the walking system.

- Control the on-off of the hydraulic oil circuit: By pressing or releasing the foot valve, the flow of the pilot oil is controlled, and then the valve stem of the main control valve is controlled to realize the on-off of the hydraulic oil circuit, so that the corresponding hydraulic actuators (such as cylinders, motors, etc.) can work or stop. For example, to control the operation of the breaker, press the foot valve, the pilot oil at the P port is connected to the A port or the B port, push the valve stem of the main control valve, make the main oil port discharge oil, and the breaker works; release it to stop working.
