Maintenance method
After the engine is supercharged, the structure of the components needs to be strengthened accordingly. The maximum burst pressure and average temperature generated in the engine work will be greatly increased, which will affect the mechanical properties and lubriion performance of the engine, and also increase the intake air temperature, so the supercharged engine is generally equipped with an intake air refrigeration device to reduce the intake air temperature, and the engine volume and weight will increase accordingly. Therefore, in terms of use and maintenance, it is necessary to strengthen the mandatory maintenance of the engine and pay attention to the correct operation method. The following points should be noted in use:
1. Walk without heating up. After the engine is started, especially in winter, it should be left to idle for a period of time so that the oil can fully lubrie the bearings before the supercharger rotor runs at high speed. Therefore, you must not slam the throttle after just starting to prevent damage to the supercharger oil seal.
2. Cannot be turned off immediately. After the engine runs at high speed for a long time, it should be idle for 3-5min and then turned off. When the engine is working, a part of the oil is supplied to the turbocharger rotor bearings for lubriion and cooling. After the sudden shutdown of the running engine, the oil pressure drops rapidly to zero, the high temperature of the turbocharger turbine part is transmitted to the middle, and the heat in the bearing support shell cannot be quickly taken away, and at the same time the supercharger rotor is still rotating at high speed under the action of inertia, so if the engine is suddenly stopped in the hot engine state, it will cause the oil trapped in the turbocharger to overheat and damage the bearing and shaft. In particular, it is necessary to prevent the sudden flameout after slamming the throttle a few times.
3. Keep it clean. Clean the air filter on time to prevent impurities such as dust from entering the high-speed rotating compressor impeller, causing unstable rotation speed or increased wear of bushings and seals. Engine oil and filters must be kept clean to prevent the ingress of impurities, otherwise the lubriing capacity of the oil will decrease, resulting in premature scrapping of the turbocharger. When disassembling the supercharger, it is necessary to keep it clean, and each pipe joint must be blocked with a clean cloth to prevent debris from falling into the supercharger and damaging the rotor. Since the supercharger is often operated at high temperature, its lubriing oil pipeline is easily partially coking due to high temperature, which will cause insufficient lubriion of the supercharger bearing and damage. Therefore, the lube oil line is cleaned after a period of operation.
4. Always pay attention to check the operation of the supercharger. Before leaving the car and after receiving the car, the connection of each tube of the airway should be checked to prevent loosening and falling off and causing the supercharger to fail and the air short circuit into the cylinder. When it is found that the oil suddenly becomes dirty, and the crankcase pressure rises rapidly; In the case of excessive oil consumption, the turbocharger is likely to be faulty and must be removed for maintenance.
