To protect conductor insulation from damage, Vican launched conduit outlet boxes for hazardous locations featuring accurately tapped and tapered hub threads for a rigid joint, reliable ground continuity, smooth integral bushings, and generous interior space. Available in different styles, sizes, material and hub configurations, all designed are easy to install, reliable and safe in areas that are exposed to explosive environments or flammable dusts. In addition, this outlet boxes are corrosion-resistant, connect conduit lengths and change direction of conduit runs and are ideal for indoor or outdoor use.

The gas field is divided into three areas: Zone 0, Zone 1 and Zone 2:
Zone 0: A site where explosive mixtures in an explosive atmosphere occur continuously in the form of gases, vapors or mists or exist for long periods of time.
Zone 1: A site where explosive mixtures of gas, vapour or mist may occur in an explosive atmosphere during normal operation. Zone 1 is a typical application site for explosion-proof electrical equipment.
Zone 2: In normal operation, explosive mixtures in the form of gases, vapors or mists are unlikely to occur in explosive atmospheres, and if present, are only occasional and short-lived locations. Usually, "short time" means that the duration is no more than 2 hours.
