The main parameters of the screw element - lead/pitch

1. Wide pitch elements are generally used in the feed and exhaust sections of extruders

2. Narrow pitch elements are used where the material needs to be compressed or filled with 100% filler

3. The increase of pitch will reduce the residence time and filling degree, the residence time distribution will be narrowed, the drag flow will increase, and the pressure flow sensitivity will be enhanced. The speed at which the towed stream conveys material increases. However, the wide pitch element is not effective in establishing the pressure to overcome the restraint forces in the flow channel. However, in the normal pressure range, its pumping capacity is greater than that of narrow pitch elements
