Steel driven end bearing piles description
Steel driven end bearing piles
(1) For 14" (36cm) diameter foundation anchors, reduce allowable capacity by 20% per building code requirements. Not applicable to HS.
The nature of the proposed application usually gives a clue to the soil type. By determining the soil classification using geotechnical surveys or the Chance Soil Probe and a knowledge of the expected loads it is possible to decide on the most suitable anchor. In general the 60 round HS screw piles are for soils class 4 to 8.
The SS150 and SS175 square anchors and 89 round HS anchors work with soils from 8 to 3 and the rock version of the 89 round screw pile will penetrate soils up to class 1. Specific rock anchors perform well in class 0 soils but require a pre-drilled hole.
A wide range of termination components are produced to connect the pile to the load.

Driven Piles
Steel driven end bearing piles are installed using hydraulic hammers with an accelerated drop weight, in conjunction with side mounted vibro hammers. Thepiles range in size from 457mm and go up to 610mm. Our driven pile solution offers higher productivity compared with traditional concrete raft foundations.
Typically used for foundations where moment and shear forces are high they are predominantly used where space is limited and the ground is strong
Advantages of driven piles
- Spoil free and no cart away to dispose of
- High productivity compared to traditional concrete foundations
- Can you used in a variety of ground conditions.
