Ferrosilicon Nitride

Ferrosilicon nitride is an iron alloy material with Si3N4 as the main component, accompanied by free iron, non-silicon nitrides, and a small amount of other components. Industrial refractory ferrosilicon nitride appears as gray-white or brown powder, while steelmaking ferrosilicon nitride is gray-white and granular.

Powdered ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used for tap holes in large blast furnaces and, in small quantities, for iron channel materials or other unshaped refractory materials. Granular ferrosilicon nitride is primarily used in silicon-oriented steel or other steels that use nitrides to enhance strength (such as HRB400 rebar).
