Description:
Ferro Chrome is an iron alloy composed of chromium and iron. It is an important alloy additive for steelmaking. Ferrochromium is divided into high carbon ferrochrome (carbon content 4~8%), medium carbon ferrochrome (carbon content 0.5~4%), low carbon ferrochrome (carbon content 0.15~0.50%) according to different carbon content. Micro-carbon ferrochromium (carbon content is 0.06%), ultra-micro carbon ferrochromium (carbon content is less than 0.03%), silicon-chromium alloy, nitride ferrochromium, etc.

Application:
Adding chromium to steel can significantly improve the oxidation resistance of steel and increase the corrosion resistance of steel. Chromium is contained in many steels with special physical and chemical properties. The chromium in steel is added using ferrochromium.
High carbon ferrochromium is used as an alloying agent for ball steel, tool steel, die steel and high-speed steel, which can improve the hardenability of steel and increase the wear resistance and hardness of steel. Adding chromium to cast iron can increase the hardness and improve wear resistance. Chromium content of 0.5% to 1.0% can improve its mechanical properties.
