Description:

Silicon powder and molybdenum powder are used as raw materials and are extruded and sintered using powder metallurgy methods. They are referred to as silicon-molybdenum rods.

Silicon-molybdenum rods have very good high-temperature resistance. After researchers discovered that they had this property, they were widely used in various heating equipment. In addition to heat resistance, silicon molybdenum rods also have oxidation resistance. Why is this? In fact, it is because the material on the surface of the silicon-molybdenum rod reacts chemically with oxygen under high temperature conditions to form a silicon dioxide film. This film can ensure that the inner material of the silicon-molybdenum rod is not oxidized by oxygen.
