Graphite Electrodes
Graphite electrodes are a type of high-temperature graphite conductive material made from petroleum coke and pitch coke as aggregate materials, coal tar pitch as binder, through raw material calcination, crushing and grinding, batching, mixing, molding, baking, graphitization (carbonization), and machining. It is called artificial graphite electrode (abbreviated as graphite electrode) and is used as a conductor to convert electrical energy into heat energy to heat and smelt the arc furnace charge, which is called a graphite electrode arc furnace.
As an important carbon product, graphite electrodes play a role in conducting electricity and heat transfer in production and are consumables on smelting equipment such as electric arc steelmaking furnaces, ore-smelting furnaces, electric furnaces, and resistance furnaces.
Graphite electrodes have a wide range of applications, mainly in various smelting equipment such as electric arc steelmaking furnaces, ore-smelting furnaces, electric furnaces, and resistance furnaces. As a conductive material, graphite electrodes play a crucial role in the smelting process. In electric arc steelmaking furnaces, graphite electrodes generate high-temperature arcs through conduction of electricity, melting the furnace charge and achieving the purpose of steelmaking. In ore-smelting furnaces and electric furnaces, graphite electrodes are used to conduct current and generate heat energy to heat and melt the furnace charge. In addition, graphite electrodes are also widely used in chemical, metallurgical, machinery, electronics, and other industrial fields.
