Manufacturing Process of Ultra-High-Power Graphite Electrodes
The manufacturing process of ultra-high-power graphite electrodes is a complex and highly specialized one, requiring extensive knowledge and expertise. The process involves the following steps:
Raw Material Selection: The first step in the manufacturing process is to select high-quality raw materials. Raw materials used in the production of ultra-high-power graphite electrodes include petroleum coke, pitch coke, and needle coke.
Crushing and Grinding: The raw materials are crushed and ground into fine powders.
Mixing: The powdered raw materials are mixed with a binder, such as coal tar pitch or petroleum pitch, to form a paste.
Forming: The paste is then pressed into the shape of an electrode using molds.
Baking: The formed electrodes are then baked in furnaces at high temperatures to remove the binder and convert the raw materials into graphite.
Impregnation: The baked electrodes are then impregnated with resins to increase their strength and density.
Graphitization: The impregnated electrodes are then graphitized at high temperatures, further enhancing their strength and electrical conductivity.
Machining: The final step in the manufacturing process is machining, where the electrodes are shaped and sized according to customer specifications.
