Carbon additives are suitable for melting and using in induction furnaces, but the specific use is also different according to the process requirements. When using carbon additives in medium-frequency electric furnace melting, they can be added into the lower part of the furnace according to the ratio or carbon equivalent requirement. The recovery rate can reach more than 95%. If the carbon content is insufficient to adjust the carbon content, first clean the slag in the furnace, and then add the carbon additive.
Through the heating of the molten iron, electromagnetic stirring or manual stirring to make the carbon dissolve and absorb, the recovery rate can be about 90%. If the low-temperature carbon increase process is adopted, that is, only a part of the furnace charge is melted, and the temperature of the melted molten iron is low, all the carbon additives are added into the molten iron at one time, and at the same time, the solid furnace charge is used to press it into the molten iron to prevent it from exposing to the surface of the molten iron. In this way, the carbon increase of the molten iron can reach more than 1.0%.
