High-power fiber lasers are made using active fibers and semiconductor diodes, incorporating two innovative advanced laser technologies. Fiber lasers use single-core junction semiconductor diodes as light sources to pump active fibers. The emitted laser beam is contained in the fiber and transmitted through the armored flexible fiber. Active fibers are special fibers doped with rare earth ions that emit extremely bright light from a very small core, combining several kilowatts of output power with excellent beam quality.
