In the optical fiber system, light power measurement is the most basic test, it is similar to the multimeter in electronics; in the optical fiber measurement, the light meter is a usual tool. Optical power meter is able to evaluate performance of optical equipment via absolute power measurement of transmitter and optical network. Combine optical power meter and light source, it can measure connection loss, test continuity and evaluate the quality of optical fiber transmission.
