The Working Way Of DBA Of OLT
Internal DBA module in OLT collect DBA reporting information,do relevant calculation, then the calculation results will be sent to each OUN in the form of BWMap. Each ONU sends uplink burst data in their respective time slots according to the BWMap information and occupies the uplink bandwidth.
There are two ways: SR(Status Reporting )-DBA and NSR (Non Status Reporting)-DBA.
SR(Status Reporting )-DBA: OLT send BW Map in the head of the downlink data frame according to the results of the last calculation. ONU sends status report for the waiting data in the current TCONT according to the bandwidth allocation information. OLT will send next data frame after received ONU status report, DBA calculate and update BWMap. ONU will send data on specified time slot after receiving BWMap message from OLT.
Procedure of NSR (Non Status Reporting)-DBA :
Step1: Monitoring the number of cells received by OLT in a defined interval.
Step2: Use real time monitoring results in Step1 to calculate the use of utilization rate.
Step3: By comparing the use of speed and limit values to recognize congestion level.
But the working way of EPON DBA and GPON DBA is not the same. They are different in calculation period ( EPON 2ms to 8ms and GPON 10ms ) , data length ( EPON 256kbps and GPON 64kbps), data format ( EPON defined by manufacturer and GPON has fix format ) and so on.
