Description

FA-TCQ40M13-10 , 4x10GBase-LR PSM QSFP Fiber Optical Transceiver 1310nm With MPO Interface And DDM

QSFP+ is an optical transceiver encapsulation type for 40G network defined by IEEE organization. It greatly meets the demand of market for higher density and high-speed plug-in solution. Now, 40G networks are very common in most data centers, and fiber optic transceiver is one of the essential components of the interconnection of data center devices.

The 40G QSFP+ optical module conforms to various standards such as SCSI, 40G Ethernet, 20G/40G Infiniband and so on. It has four data transmission channels, the transmission rate of each channel is about 10Gbps, and the four channels can transmit at the same time so it can achieve 40Gbps transmission rate. QSFP+ optical transceiver mainly has two kinds of fiber interfaces: LC and MTP/MPO, used in single mode applications and multimode applications respectively.

The 40G QSFP+ fiber optic transceiver has many types, including 40GBASE-SR4, 40GBASE-LR4, and 40GBASE-ER4 and so on.

The 40GBASE-SR4 optical transceiver uses MTP/MPO interface, and the working wavelength is 850nm, which is generally used in multimode applications. The transmission distance of the OM3/OM4 multimode fiber is 100m and 150m respectively, which is mainly used to realize the connection between network devices in the data center. 40GBASE-SR4 fiber optic transceiver can not only use MTP/MPO fiber optic jumper to realize the connection between two 40G network devices, but also can be used with MTP/MPO to LC optical fiber patch cord to achieve connection between 40G network devices and 10G network devices.

40GBASE-LR4 and 40GBASE-ER4 optical transceiver use duplex LC interfaces, which are generally used in single mode applications. These two optical transceivers have four independent optical signal receiving and transmitting channels. It is necessary to do multiplexing and demultiplexing optical signals by WDM technology, so as to realize the transmission of optical signals on long distance single-mode optical fibers. The transmission distance of the 40GBASE-LR4 optical module can reach 10 km, while the transmission distance of the 40GBASE-ER4 optical transceiver is longer.
