Description

0.45µm Binder-free Borosilicate Glass Microfiber Membrane Filters

The glass microfiber membranes we offer are manufactured from 100% borosilicate glass microfiber without the use of binders or strengthening agents. The fibers used to manufacture these depth filters are smooth and uniform, which enables them to exhibit their characteristically high flow rates and high load capacity while retaining exceptionally small particles. These characteristics are particularly important in applications involving high concentrations of particulate or gelatinous substances. GF membrane is naturally hydrophilic but we are highly experienced to further process it into hydrophobic type to reach high levels of gas permeability which can allow for fast pressure equalization and airflow. Due to the microporous matrix structure, hydrophobic glass fiber membranes allows sterile gas to pass through with low pressure drop while providing a barrier to aerosolized liquids and particles. GF membranes are also generally used in applications such as single and multi-process removal of coarse particulates. These binder-free glass fiber membrane filters also have remarkable chemical stability, which ensures that it can withstand harsh chemicals and maintain its performance over extended periods without degrading. The GF filter also exhibits exceptional temperature resistance, making it suitable for use in various applications where high temperatures may be present. Glass fiber membrane filters from XINNA are available in a wide range of pore sizes and formats to cater to different applications.

Features of Glass Microfiber Membranes

  • Free of binders or additives
  • Fast flow rate
  • Low extractable
  • High load capacity
  • Retention of particles to sub-micron size
  • High thermal resistance
  • Use in liquid and gaseous filtration
  • Sterilization : EO, gamma, or autoclave (121 °C at 1 bar).

Applications
Glass fiber membrane filters are commonly used in applications such as single and multi process removal of sediment and coarse particulate and pre-filtration prior to surface filtration of precipitating proteins and cells in lab analysis. Hydrophobic Glass microfiber filters are well suited for air venting and gas sterilization, for example, in IV infusion lines, glass fiber filter helps in the dissipation of these gas bubbles.
