IV filters, to be specific, in-line IV filters, micro IV filters or infusion filters, are small but important medical accessories applied during infusion administration by many different hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare professionals around the world.
An inline IV filter, as its name indicates, is designed to filter the fluids flowing through intravenous infusion lines. These filters helps to remove air bubbles forming in the IV line as the liquid drug stream down, and meanwhile retains life-threatening micro-particles in the fluid that could cause contamination or blockages.
The IV filters manufactured by us consist of one or two PTFE air vents ( depending on models ) and a fluid filter membrane PES in the center. As the liquid drug stream down over the membrane, the air bubbles are vented immediately and the highly hydrophilic PES membrane is wettened and starts to work as a barrier effectively to prevent endotoxin, bacteria and other fine particles from getting into the patient's body through the infusion line.
