IV extension sets are typically connected to IV catheters to allow a larger distance between the patient and the fluid being administered which is often necessary due to the size and volume of equipment being used at any one time. They can also be used to create a "Y" or "T" junction, which allows multiple bags or bottles to be connected to a single catheter. And with a micron in-Line filter, the extension sets will have additional benefits of unwanted particle filtration and air elimination, preventing the dangerous factors from entering the bloodstreams of patients receiving infusion therapies. In addition, the filters we use in the extension sets are specially designed Auto Air Stop filter which automatically stops the flow when the I.V. bottle gets empty and thereby protect the downstream infusion line from air entry.
