BS476-6 Fire Test Machine Fire Propagation Tests On Building Materials And Structures
BS476-6 Fire propagation Tests on Building materials and structures
Model: DX8298
Meet the standards:
BS 476 Part 6 :Fire tests on building materials and structures- Part 6: method of test for fire propagation for products.
Scope of application:
In order to evaluate the flame propagation characteristics of the materials tested in BS 476-6, the thermocouple continuously records the chimney temperature and chamber temperature difference, and compares them with the calibration curve. The calibration curve is carried out in the same way according to the specified density of asbestos cement board.
Technical parameters:
Chamber wall:
Asbestos cement board | 12.5 mm thick |
Dry density | 1300 kg / m3 ~ 1450 kg / m3 |
test chamber inner dimension | 190 mm × 190 mm × 90 mm |
Air inlet | 96 mm × 25 mm |
Mica observation window | 50 mm × 50 mm |
Steel baffle | 200 mm × 40 mm |
Steel bar | fixed sample holder |
The combustion chamber consists of:
-Horizontal gas combustion tube
-Two heating elements
-Placed under the removable steel chimney and fairing (sample rack).
Test procedure:
-The flaky sample is put into the sample holder and clamped on the combustion chamber to make the sample surface contact with the combustion chamber wall.
-Heat for 20 minutes.
result:
-Fire spread index I and sub indexes I1, I2 and I3.
-The higher the fire spread index is, the greater the impact of products on the accelerated development of fire is.
