Description
Flexible element couplings are made of rubber, polyurethane, and nylon.Flexible couplings are used to transmit torque from one shaft to another when the two shafts are slightly misaligned. It can accommodate varying degrees of misalignment up to 3°. In addition to allowing for misalignment, it can also be used for vibration damping or noise reduction.Flexible element coupling has a wide range of elastic modulus, easy to obtain elastic elements with different stiffness, light weight, large internal friction, good damping performance, more deformation energy per unit volume storage, no mechanical friction, no lubrication, etc.
Advantages of Flexible element couplings
- Suitable for medium and large power shaft drive
- Large transmission torque. At the same torque, most of the rotation diameter is smaller than the gear coupling, small in size and light in weight. It can partially replace the gear coupling.
- Compared with toothed coupling, it has simple structure, fewer component parts, more convenient manufacturing, and no gear processing machine is needed.
- Easy maintenance, longer life, nylon pin can be replaced after removing the baffle.
- Poor vibration reduction energy and high noise
- Widely used in various mechanical and hydraulic fields
- Elastomers made of rubber, polyurethane, and nylon
- Compensating the axial relative drift, buffer and vibration reduction
