Introduction

On the upper part of the dense layer, thick flocs that are not stable enough are deposited. They are essentially a floating filter medium. They are very effective in intercepting small particles. The sediment at the bottom of the dense layer, under the combined action of a larger water head and material gravity, makes the underflow of the deep cone thickener obtain greater pressure, which greatly increases the concentration of the discharged material.
