Many organic compounds that dissolve in water have the ability to absorb ultraviolet light. By quantifying the absorption of UV light at a wavelength of 254nm by these organic substances, it is possible to accurately determine the concentration of dissolved organic pollutants present in the water. The KWS-150 online COD sensor employs dual light sources: one for measuring the COD content using ultraviolet light and another as a reference to gauge water turbidity. Additionally, a specialized algorithm compensates for any light path attenuation and mitigates interference from suspended impurities, ensuring more stable and reliable measurements.
