A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of S-beam load cell FSSQ is around 2.0mV/V.
Power supply of S type force sensor FSSQ is normally within 3-12V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of S beam force transducer FSSQ is normally within -24mV...+24mV for tension and compression force measurement.
A load cell amplifier can be used to convert mV signal into -5-5V / 0-10V / 4-20mA for easy signal processing,taking FSSQ-50N and FSC(-5-5V)-24V for example,the load-voltage relationship will be 0-50N compression load VS 0-5V output, 0-50N tension load VS 0-(-5V) output, 5V voltage corresponds to 50N compression load, -1V voltage corresponds to 10N tension force,and so on.
