A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force. The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element, the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge, under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally, thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Flange Type Press Load Cell FFA is normally around 2.0mV/V.
Power supply of Flange Mounted Loadcell FFA is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of Flange Type Force Sensor FFA is normally within 0…+30mV.
Example one: Flanged Compression Load Cell FFA-500N with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 5V DC,the output range is 0~10mV.
Example two: Flange Type Compression Sensor FFA-1000N with 1.95mV/V rated output powered by 10V DC,the output range is 0~19.5mV.
The mV/V output from the wheatstone bridge sometimes can hardly be processed directly, a signal conditioner can be used with the load cell to deliver -5~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example one: Flange Mounted Force Sensor FFA-1kN working with amplifier FSC(0-10V)-24V,the Force-Voltage relationship will be 0-1000N compression force VS 0-10V output, which is linear regardless of the measurement error,namely 1V output corresponds to 100N compression load, 2V output corresponds to 200N compressive force, and so on.
Example two: Column Type Compression Force Transducer FFA-2kN working with amplifier FSC(4-20mA)-24V,the Force-Current relationship will be 0-2000N compression force VS 4-20mA output, which is linear regardless of the measurement error, namely 4mA output corresponds to “0” load, 5.6mA output corresponds to 200N compressive load, 12mA output corresponds to 1kN compression force, and so on.
