F-TECH-FSR370 is a low-stress silicone foamed silicone material. It has a low density and excellent resistance to compression set. Compared with traditional carbon-based foam materials, the material has excellent high and low-temperature resistance (-55-200 °C), high flame retardant (V-0), extremely low smoke density and smoke toxicity. In addition, the material has excellent ageing and weather resistance, making it ideal for all types of shock absorption, cushioning, support, sound insulation, protection, insulation and fire protection.
The precise and reliable installation of the foldable gasket is key, as battery manufacturers are making higher-density battery systems and their housings are becoming more complex and diverse. These more complex designs need a more precise gasket to ensure the seal integrity is not compromised and the metal element of the solution ensures this is the case. The metal is usually the same as that used for the housing itself and the surface is anodised and treated to ensure a strong bond with the elastomer component. The result is a sealing solution that delivers enhanced durability and also electrical conductivity, meaning electricity can transfer easily from the upper cover to the lower casing via the gasket, which avoids corrosion as a consequence of electricity build-up. Standalone pure rubber and FIP solutions do not have this ability.

* Dust sealing – open cell and closed-cell products can be used for sealing out dust with low compressive forces.
* Compression set resistance – silicone foam offers excellent compression set resistance (ability to rebound to original
thickness).
* UV and ozone resistance – silicone products have excellent UV and ozone resistance due in part to their inorganic backbone. This provides long-term performance.
* UL gasket – most silicone foam products are UL 94 flame rated for the gasket.
