Denim is a thicker yarn-dyed warp twill. The warp yarn is dark in color, generally indigo blue, and the weft yarn is light in color. It is generally light gray or boiled white yarn. It is also called indigo labor cloth. In the western United States, it was named after herders used to make clothes. In recent years, denim clothing has become more and more popular, and the colors of denim are also rich and colorful, mainly including bromine indigo (commonly known as emerald blue in the market) denim and sulphur black denim, as well as coffee, emerald, gray, Khaki, sulfur blue denim, and a small amount of red, pink, and royal denim dyed with Naftor dyes or reactive dyes. However, the traditional dyeing process of denim has problems such as complicated process, high energy consumption, poor quality of dyed cloth, etc., and the color fastness after dyeing is relatively low.

Said method of tie-dyeing denim specifically includes the following steps:

(1) Denim pretreatment: Denim is treated with an acetic acid solution with a concentration of 3ml/l-4ml/l for 2 passes, and then washed with cold water for 1 pass;

(2) Dip dyeing reactive dyes: denim fabrics are dip dyed with reactive dyes, and then dried for later use;

(3) Tie-dyed vat dye: tie the pattern on the dyed cloth by stitching, the vat dye is reduced to dissolve, and then put the part of the tied denim that needs to be dyed into the vat dye for 60 seconds, dyeing temperature 60 ℃-70℃;

(4) Oxidation: Arrange the tie-dyed denim in the air to oxidize for 30-45 minutes;

(5) Thread removal: remove the stitched thread;

(6) Washing: Tie-dyed denim after stitching is washed once in cold water;

(7) Soaping: In soaping, the detergent 109 or detergent 209 is 1.2g/l, sodium carbonate is 0.8g/l, the temperature is controlled at 95°C, and the time is controlled at 1-2min;

(8) Drying: Dry the soaped and dyed denim.

The reactive dye can be one or a combination of reactive dyes such as reactive black, reactive red, reactive blue, and reactive yellow.

The vat dye is vat blue.
