The advantages of refining agents in casting can be summarized as follows:
1. Deoxidation: Deoxidize and modify the steel slag to reduce the FeO and MnO content in the slag and reduce the oxidizability of the steel slag. According to the requirements of the steel grade and the amount of refined slag added, the oxygen content in the steel should be reduced by more than 20-30ppm.
2. Desulfurization and phosphorus: The refining agent reacts with sulfur and phosphorus and enters the slag, thereby reducing the sulfur and phosphorus content in the steel. Under normal circumstances, the desulfurization and phosphorus rate can reach more than 30-60%.
3. Improve thermal efficiency: In the process of treating molten steel, the cast steel refining agent will generate reaction heat, which can increase the temperature and thermal efficiency of the molten steel and make the quality of the steel more stable.
4. Remove impurities in steel: The reducing refining slag system mainly composed of calcium aluminate, due to stirring under high-temperature refining, impurities in the steel float up and are adsorbed by the refining agent.
5. Adjusting composition: Cast steel refining agent can adjust the composition ratio in molten steel, making the composition of steel more uniform and further improving the quality and performance of steel.
