Product description

A thermostat FM200 fire extinguisher is a pre-engineered, automatic fire suppression system that operates based on temperature-sensing activation. Inside the device, it is charged with FM200 (chemically known as HFC-227ea), which is a clean, colorless, odorless, and low-toxic gas agent designed for effective and environmentally-friendly fire suppression.


In detail, the thermostat FM200 fire extinguisher features a thermal-sensitive element, typically a calibrated thermosensitive glass bulb, in its activation piping. Under normal conditions, this glass bulb remains sealed to maintain the containment of the fire suppressant within the container. Upon a fire incident, when the temperature in the protected area rises to a pre-set value, the glass bulb expands and breaks due to heat exposure, thereby opening the release valve.


When the valve opens, the FM200 (HFC-227ea) suppressant is rapidly discharged and dispersed evenly throughout the fire source area. The agent primarily works by chemically inhibiting the chain reaction of combustion through interaction with free radicals, effectively stopping the spread of flames. Moreover, the FM200, during evaporation, absorbs significant amounts of heat, contributing to a marked decrease in the fire scene's temperature.


Given the non-conductive nature of FM200 and its minimal impact on electronic equipment, thermostat FM200 fire extinguishers are particularly well-suited for safeguarding critical facilities such as computer rooms, telecommunication equipment rooms, data centers, archives, and other environments where sensitive electronics and valuable records are stored.
