The base metal for ppgi/ppgl is usually cold-rolled steel, hot dipped galvanized steel, electro-galvanized steel, and hot dipped galvalume steel.

The type of paint used for the coating is usually polyster, silicon modified polyester, polyvinylidene fluoride, or high-durability polyester.
