Given what I had seen when shopping, I was pleasantly surprised at how attractive and well made the is. The size is perfect for the item I placed inside. My husband has a hand-painted miniature of a Polish Knight. This was a gift that has a nod to hubby's Polish heritage so it needed to be protected. Being small I was constantly afraid it would be knocked over and damaged. The best thing is that it immediately added stature to the knight and he is easily noticed. The glass as well as the base are well made and the finish is very attractive and has the wood tones I was trying to find. I suspect I will be buying more of these, in various sizes, in the future. ---- Connie

Perfect for my purpose, now all I have to dust is the dome.... I'd buy this again, and wish I had more space to put all my collectibles under glass. The glass is perhaps 1/16" thick, maybe a little less, I read complaining reviews about fragility....really??? It's a piece of glass, and just try and make one yourself, then maybe you'll be a little less likely to complain about minor imperfections, or just spend double or more money for some museum grade display. ---- Kevin

This is a nicely made dome. I needed to mount a butterfly inside so I simply drilled a hole in the base stuck in a thick piece of wire (the whole needs to be a little bit smaller than the wire so that it stays firmly in place) and then attached the butterfly to the wire. It worked great and looks great too. ---- Levon
