1. Summary
Type DDS5558 meter is a new type single phase whole electronic meter. It adopts micro-electronics techniques to measure electric energy, imported special LSI and newest SCM and periphery CMOS chip technique to design and make which can directly and accurately measure meter active energy consumption in positive direction. Its Data collection, disposal and save is finished by advanced SCM processor and electric and adopt 7 digits wide temperature type LCD with SMT technics to display energy consumption data. The meter completely accord with relevant technical requirements of Class 1 or Class 2 single phase energy meter stipulated in National Standard GB/T 17215.321-2008 and International Standard IEC 62053-21:2003. It has following features: Favorable anti-electromagnetism disturbance, low power loss, high accuracy, high overload, anti-stealing electricity, reliable performance and long life.
2. Performance and principle
2.1 Circuit design and components choice of energy meter is according as wide range surroundings conditions so as to guarantee meter working stably for long term.
2.2 Principle: Energy meter get voltage sampling signal from voltage transformer and get current sampling signal from current transformer, and get product signal of current and voltage from multiplication device, and bring energy measuring impulse by frequency transform which is direct ratio between frequency and product of voltage and current, the created energy impulse signal is sent to CPU by photoelectricity coupling device and storage in non-lost EEPROM after operation and display.
3. Scope of application
Type DDS5558 single phase electronic meter is suitable for measuring single phase AC active energy consumption in rated frequency 50Hz or 60Hz. It is installed indoors, which temperature is in -20°C~ +55°C and the relative humidity shall not exceed 85%. And the air should not be included some harm gas, dust, mildew, and insect, etc.

4.2.1 Error Limits
4.2.2 Starting current
Under the conditions of rated voltage and rated frequency and cosφ=1, when meter load current is specified value in the following table, the meter should start and record energy consumption continuously.

4.2.3 Running with no-load
When the meter has no current in current circuit but the voltage is 115% of the rated in the voltage circuit, the rotor of the meter shall not make one more impulse.
4.2.4 Insulation
All the circuits to the meter case can endure the impulse voltage of 1.2/50μs wave and 6kV peak value .In the same electrode to be test 10 times, the meter shall not discharge arc or breakdown.
All the circuits to the insulation to the ground can endure alternating voltage 4kV of 50Hz factual sine wave in a minute.

5. Installation and use:
5.1 Installation notice items and ways:
5.1.1 The meter can be installed and used after being test and sealed with letterpress printing. Without letterpress printing or storage time is too long, the meter must be retest.
5.1.2 When take out meters from original carton and find out inner packing or meter cover damaged, do not install and use the meter, please contact company technical dept.
5.1.3 Experienced electrician or professional technician to install the meter and ensure read the manual.
5.1.4 The meter must be installed in a ventilate and arid place. The meter base board must be on the wall of fire resistance and uneasily shaking. The meter must be installed vertically and the gradient shall not exceed 1 °.The installation height is about 1.8m.
5.1.5 The meter must be installed in the protective box in dusty place or against possible mechanical injury.
5.1.6 Connecting must accord with above drawings or the drawing in the extended cover. To use brass conductor to input to avoid that the meter shall be burnt due to loose contact.
5.1.7 In the more thunderstorms place to adopt measures to avoid lightning injury.
5.1.8 The load capacity of the meter is between 0.05Ib~Imax or 0.02Ib~Imax(connection by CT). If the capacity exceeds above the register shall not be accurate or the current coil shall be heated and burnt.
5.1.9 When meter with CT, i.e. meter connected through CT, after reading energy display data, it still need multiply CT ratio so as to get the factual energy consumption.
5.2Use illustration
5.2.1 Power supply indication:Green indicator light shine shows the meter is working.
5.2.2 Reverse using electricity indication:Yellow indicator light shine shows the meter is reverse using electricity.
5.2.3 Impulse indication:Red indicator light shine shows the meter detected energy impulse.
5.2.4 If sampling signal existence, impulse indicator lights shines 80ms
5.2.5 Data display: Adopt 7 digits wide range temperature type LCD display

5.2. Energy storage:Energy data keep time after power cut≥10 Year
5.2.8 EEPROM detection:
When displayer display letter EEP, shows meter detected EEPROM read-write error;when appear some times like this, shows meter exist hardware malfunction, please change it immediately to avoid further loss.
