The friction surface layer structural material of the polytetrafluoroethylene fiber steel back composite self-lubricating slide plate is a braid of polytetrafluoroethylene fibers. The fabric and the steel substrate are bonded together by a structural adhesive to form a self-lubricating material, which is processed into sliding bearings of various shapes. The woven fabric is woven by using polytetrafluoroethylene filament and aramid filament produced by DuPont of the United States as a raw material, and the purpose is to ensure the adhesion of the polytetrafluoroethylene fiber to the steel sheet.
Polytetrafluoroethylene is a self-lubricating material with excellent properties, and its friction coefficient is a small one of the existing solid materials. However, due to the low strength, the wear resistance is poor. At present, most of the filler fibers or other fillers are used to improve the wear resistance, and the effect is limited. The PTFE fiber has a tensile strength 15 times higher than that of the pure polytetrafluoroethylene resin, which makes up for this deficiency and greatly improves the wear resistance.
