Design concept of machine body and main components
During grinding, the most important is the retention of precision, which relays on the performance of thermal stability rather than anti-vibration. Cast iron itself has a very low coefficient of heat expansion, but very good heat conductivity, compared to the human-made granite. There arise a lot of heat during grinding, and it can be conducted out evenly through the cast iron base, thus, the machine is kept in a stable thermal status.
All the main structure parts are made from high grade cast irons or steels, including wheel head, work head, tail stock, spindles, and bearing holders. That ensures the machine body with continuous and similar materials, as well as stable thermal stability.
Any causal thermal change happened in short time will be compensated through the cast iron machine base, which is better than those made from steel or human-made granite.
Besides, the cast iron structure have high rigidity and good vibration absorption performance, better than the human-made granite. That fits the high precise grinding very much.
The worktable is a fully supported V-flat guide rail, which is characterized by good rigidity and large load-bearing capacity. The surface of the guide rails is entirely scraped by hand to the highest level of precision. The guide rail moves smoothly, and the surface is covered with Turcite® coating, which has a self-lubricating function to minimize the friction coefficient, eliminate the possibility of low-speed crawling, and minimize the wear of the guide rail.
Super high precision bearings are used in the worktable (Z axis), together with high precision ball screw and nut of Japanese THK standard.
Linear guides are used in the horizontal X axis, to ensure a linear movement of high precision and low
friction.

When started, a taper-type oil film is created owing to the step between the deep groove and shallow groove, with a combination of hydro-static force and hydro-dynamic force, causing the load capacity is increased significantly.
There are several oil cavities distributed evenly inside the hydro-static-dynamic bearing. This not only ensures the precision of rotary spindle, but also increase the stiffness of spindle to resist the deformation.
The hydro-static-dynamic bearing is oiled by an outside oil-supply system, and there arises a high pressure oil layer between the inner surface of bearing and outer surface of spindle, which makes the spindle always in a hydro liquid environment, and friction with liquid only, without metal to metal contact. That not only decreases the friction coefficient, but also increases the rotary speed of spindle.
The oil inside spindle can damp the vibration as well as resist the error, which keep the spindle a very high rotary precision, rotary stability, and long service life.
